It's been so warm and "springy" lately that I am actually very pleased to have woken up to rain clouds this morning! If you know me at all then you probably know how much I love rainy days. It's an extra rainy day, too... The clouds are heavy and dark but it's warm enough that I get to keep the windows open. I can smell the fresh, rainy air mixed with the sweet aroma of my coffee brewing. Ahh.. life is good. :)
It was a fairly eventful week for me; I managed to upload 2 brand new designs to my Society6 shop - Check it out! Society6 also introduced a new product this week... TOWELS! I don't have any designs uploaded for those yet but that's my project for this weekend! In the meantime, this link will take you to the Society6 shop where you'll find millions of other talented artists' bath/beach towels. They are having a sale, too: FREE shipping on everything!! So go nuts! :)
On another note, we are officially only 7 days away from Art is Wild! Have you purchased your tickets yet? I honestly believe that you do not want to miss it! There are TWO auctions, one silent and one live. There will be locally and nationally recognized artists, delicious drinks, Forks and Corks catering, and face painting! The live auction will feature baskets sponsored by local businesses and we have several getaways for both couples and families. There is truly something for everyone.
The best part, though? All proceeds benefit Chintimini Wildlife Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to treating and rehabilitating our local wildlife. CWC relies solely on volunteers, donations from the community, and events like Art is Wild. So, be sure to grab your tickets! The price goes up at the door (if we haven't sold out by then)!
I'm on the Art is Wild committee and most of my responsibility involves gathering sponsorship for the live auction baskets. Well, the baskets aren't the only thing sponsored by local businesses... We have a raffle drawing planned, too! (Although, I don't actually know what the raffle prize will be yet... they're being real "hush hush" about it... So, it must be pretty good!) I DO know, however, that My Father's Flowers has agreed to sponsor a prize for the #hashtag contest! If you're not familiar with Susan's work down there then you are seriously missing out! I wandered into her shop last week and had a chance to talk to her about the event. She is donating a gorgeous arrangement as well as a gift card to her shop (inside Madison Plaza)!
So, that's what I've been up to all week! I'm excited to start a couple more pieces this weekend so I can load them into my shop. What are you up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments!
Lastly, be sure to subscribe to my blog if you would like to stay updated!
In my last blog post I mentioned that my husband and I were going to be applying for a townhouse. Well we did.... and we got it! We have to wait until July before we can move in but we're SO excited! Again, this means that I get to have my own art studio! Once that happens, I'll have my own space to create all the things.. YAYY!
